Dr. Everett's childhood interest in skating helped to save his life. At 13, following a severe asthma exacerbation, he went into a full arrest. Doctors credit his full recovery to his healthy heart and lungs as a result of his competitive skating. Continuing his training, Dr. Everett went on to win several US National Championships. This experience made him aware of what kids go through when they’re ill and how perseverance can overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.

Dr. Everett graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Psychobiology and Minor in Bioethics, going on to earn his M.D. at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.
